Wednesday, November 2 or 9, 2022
Enjoy a full breakfast at your leisure included at hotel (with voucher). This morning we enjoy a professional guided city tour of Nashville, to include a self-guided tour of the historic Ryman Auditorium. Admission is included to the Ryman Auditorium for a self-guided tour. Ryman Auditorium is a National Historic Landmark and must see for anyone visiting Nashville. Most famous as the home of the Grand Ole Opry from 1943-1974, its history as Nashville’s premier theater and central gathering place started even before construction was complete in 1892. You’ll discover the divine inspiration behind the building’s construction as the Union Gospel Tabernacle in the 1880’s in our welcome video. Explore its rich entertainment history and how the Ryman became known as the “Carnegie Hall of South”, “Mother Church of Country Music”, and “Birthplace of Bluegrass”.
We will end right around lunch time where you will be on your own for lunch then return to the hotel to freshen up before dinner at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville. Then it’s off to the Bridgestone Arena for the CMA Awards Show. Upper-level seats are reserved.
Thursday, November 3 or 10, 2022
Full breakfast included at hotel (with voucher). Enjoy a leisurely morning with time to enjoy the hotel. We will meet up after lunch (on your own) and depart for Studio B. Admission included to the Country Music Hall of Fame, where you can hear rare recordings of country’s legendary performers, see behind-the-scenes films by today’s stars, along with costumes, instruments, and personal treasures from country music’s past and present. And then it’s our time to Be a Star for a Day! The star treatment is what Nashville does best, and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum brings it all together in this unique, one-of-a-kind experience. Our group begins with a personally guided tour of historic RCA Studio B, Home of 1,000 Hits, where music legends recorded timeless songs. They’ll be inspired during their own recording session directed by a sound engineer right where Elvis himself stood to record over 200 songs. After this super fun day, you are free this evening to enjoy downtown Nashville with dinner on own.
Friday, November 4 or 11, 2022
Full breakfast included at hotel (with voucher). Today we will visit the Hermitage. Admission included to the Hermitage, home of President Andrew Jackson. The Hermitage mansion has been meticulously restored to its 1837 appearance and today looks much as it did when Andrew Jackson returned to it after finishing his second term as President. When you arrive at the Hermitage mansion, costumed historical interpreters greet you and prepare you for your tour. Inside, historical interpreters stationed throughout the house tell you about Jackson, his family, and his home and answer any questions you have. Self-guided tours of the Hermitage grounds have much to offer including the Hermitage Garden, Jackson’s tomb, and the Beyond the Mansion tour of sites related to slavery, farming, and nature at the Hermitage.
It’s lunch time and a home-style barbeque buffet lunch awaits at the Wildhorse Saloon. We’ll also have line-dancing lessons, and we’ll play the “hit song” y’all recorded at Studio B over the Wildhorse’s sound system.
Return to hotel to freshen up or stay downtown and enjoy all that downtown Nashville has to offer! Dinner tonight at Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen and then it’s off to the Grand Ole Opry – Nashville’s must-see attraction AND the world’s longest running live radio show. As the home of country music, the Opry offers an incredible mix of talent to create an American experience like no other!
